About
MY BACKGROUND
Myself Archana Chutia, a Ph.D Scholar (PMRF) at the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, Assam . I was born (1996) and brought up in North Lakhimpur, Assam, India. I joined the institute as a CSIR JRF in August 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Anil Kumar Saikia. I was awarded the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship during June 2022 cycle. Our research revolves around the new synthetic methodologies for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds using Lewis acid and transition-metal catalyst.
I did my post graduation from North East Hill University( NEHU), Shillong with Masters in Chemistry before joining IIT Guwahati. My M.Sc. project on synthesis of a proline Derive Asymmetric Organothiourea and its Application in Asymmetric Aldol Reaction was supervised by Prof. Ghanashyam Bez. Before that, I got my graduation degree from North lakhimpur College (Autonomous) under Dibrugarh University with Chemistry honors.
Besides my research work, I would also like to spend my leisure time by listening to music, watching movies, travelling, reading novels and doing some DIY works.
